Demo of the Arboleda House

August 18, 2010 at 09:27:16 AM

Red's takes down the house!

Let the building begin!

August 17, 2010 at 06:24:51 PM

Later in the day on the 14th, the old house was demo'd.

The debris was picked up, hauled away and construction began with the excavation getting underway the evening of the 15th.

Red's Excavation worked hard into the late evening hours digging up the earth that would be the basement.

Throughout midnight and into the wee hours of Monday morning, the crew of Northern Concrete made an enormous effort in getting the walls of the basement built, poured, the forms stripped and voila! A full basement overnight.

INCREDIBLE!

To say this crew is tough as nails is putting it mildly.

Scott, who is the over-night project coordinator from Extreme Makeover, was very pleased with the skill and quality of the workmanship from the Lexington foremen who were running the project all night, to the skilled laborers deep down in the earth making this part of the project happen.

Marty, a definite VIP at our job site, commented at about 3:00 AM, "No rookies in that hole!"

Well said!

The basement walls are poured, the foundation is set, dry and ready...and onward to the framing.

Braveheart March!

August 17, 2010 at 05:34:48 PM

On August 14th at 10:00AM the Lexington Homes crew assembled at the Shattuck Elementary School in Neenah.  The family had been surprised earlier in the morning by the Extreme Home Makeover team, and we were getting ready for the next exciting event....meeting the family!

The Lexington team wore company issued shirts in burgundy and tan; made specially for the event.  Our awesome team of sub-contractors were issued the famous blue t-shirts with the EMHE logo on the back.

Hard hats were handed out, and the banner was raised....

Off we marched down the center of Elm Street, cheering and chanting, "Build that house! Build that house!"  Neighbors from homes everywhere came rushing out to cheer us on, and you could feel the thrill of what would be transpiring rise to the clouds as those who knew and loved the family realized what was happening.

We approached the home and parked our group of about 250 people right in the front lawn, with our Lexinton Homes banner in front-center.

Not long after, the Extreme Home Makeover world-famous bus pulled up, and out jumped Ty Pennington, the family and other celebrities from the show....and we filmed the beginning of what would be an extraordinary experience!

Let the build begin!
